Fear the Walking Dead season 5 trailer shows Dwight crossover

AMC released the first season 5 trailer for Fear the Walking Dead at their Wondercon panel today and it features moments both light and dark — cats and beer and talk of accordions along with death, destruction, and some gnarly looking zombies. But it is the appearance of two key figures that steal the show: the long-awaited return of Daniel Salazar and the first crossover appearance of The Walking Dead‘s Dwight.

Ruben Bladés Daniel was last seen on the exploding bridge in Mexico in Fear‘s season 3 finale. Even though showrunners Ian Goldberg and Andrew Chambliss teased that Daniel would return at some point, the character was completely absent during season 4. However, the trailer shows he will inded be back in season 5, making his entrance with a gun pointed at his old adversary Victor Strand.

As for Dwight, Austin Amelio’s character has not been seen since chasing after his girlfriend Sherry in TWD‘s season 8 finale. It was announced he, like Lennie James’ Morgan, would be moving over to the sister show, and we get our first footage of his crossover here.

Watch the extensive trailer above to prepare for Fear‘s return on June 2.
