Valkyrie returns! Wong lives! Shuri … doesn’t — what we learned from the Avengers: Endgame posters

The new Avengers: Endgame character posters set the chess board for the upcoming Marvel Studios movie, opening April 26.

Now we know who survives to fight, who is gone, but also who may return.

The big revelation was the Letitia Wright’s Wakandan tech princess Shuri is among the dusted, since survivors are featured in color, while the “fallen” are displayed in black and white.

But … there was also good news?

Tessa Thompson‘s Valkyrie will be in Endgame!

Her character first appeared in sword-swinging glory in Thor: Ragnarok but was missing from Infinity War. Now we know she has survived not just Thanos’ attack on their refugee ship, but also the Snapocalypse that wiped out half the life in the universe.

Another character from Infinity War whose fate was unknown was Benedict Wong‘s warrior librarian Wong, who was last known to be returning to the Sanctum Sanctorum after a streetfight with Thanos’ minions.

Lastly, we get a character poster for Thor’s duplicitous brother Loki, who was killed by Thanos at the start of Infinity War.

Tom Hiddleston’s charismatic villain didn’t even survive to The Snap, so there was some question about whether he would ever be seen again.

If the surviving Avengers manage to reverse Thanos’ destruction of life with the Infinity Gauntlet, would that apply to him? He’s listed among “the fallen,” but he wouldn’t be getting a poster if he didn’t return in some way.

Looks like Loki’s death, once again, may be greatly exaggerated.
